Warren and his wife Kitty live and work from their spacious home and studios in the heart of Austin, Texas. Warren is a professional artist for more years than he can count. After college he worked as a commercial artist then as an advertising manager, went back to earn his MFA from the Instituo de Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico and began an eight year teaching experience at the University level. His watercolors began selling after meeting his mentor Bud Biggs. Bud encouraged Warren to paint full time. Warren resigned his teaching position despite the forebodings of family and friends and the echo of “You can’t make a living as an artist” rang on deaf ears. Now 40 years later he is still creating art and enjoying his chosen career more than most.
The 840 square foot painting studio was designed and built by Warren in 1989; next door the sculpture studio was completed in 2004. These are the structures that you see from the sculpture garden. Artist Warren can be found in one of the studios creating in many different art mediums and writing. Warren is an accomplished painter, and sculptor. He is a warm friendly personality and enjoys visits from friends who want to talk about art, life and positive experiences. Warren’s passion for creativity and his seemingly boundless energy keeps him constantly moving forward in new directions.
